CHENNAI: Mumbai kids could soon learn the Nerazzurri way of football. Italian giants Inter Milan are now looking to open a football academy in Mumbai after finalising their academy in Hosur, near Bangalore. Marco Monti, technical director of Inter Milan, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
"We are in talks with Playon Skills, our exclusive partner in India, for one more academy to cater to such a huge country.

This might come up in Mumbai in the future," Monti told the TOI.
The academy in Hosur would be inaugurated by May. Explaining the reason for choosing Hosur as the academy base, Monti said: "After evaluating several options we decided Hosur as a strategic location. The place is ideally located at the intersection of the three major South Indian states Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu."
He added that the students would be selected on merit only through football camps, tournaments and clinics.
A team from Inter is currently in Chennai to conduct a football clinic for coaches and children on Wednesday and Thursday. Stefano Rapetti, a fitness coach in Inter, said they will be visiting more cities in the future. "We have already covered Bangalore, Kochi and Trivandrum. Mumbai will be interesting to see in the month of May," Rapetti said.
